The word "halcyon" in English, representing a blissful and tranquil period, aligns with the Chinese term 安寧 (ān níng), which encapsulates a sense of calmness. Notably, the phonetic similarity between "níng" in 安寧 and "您" (nín), a respectful form of address in Chinese, adds an intriguing cultural dimension.
Incorporating these words into the design concept evoked feelings of nostalgia, serenity, and reverence. The thoughtful choice of words with both aesthetic and cultural resonance adds layers of meaning to the concept. Ensure that the visual elements complement these linguistic nuances, effectively conveying the design's desired emotions and cultural connotations.
This project is about renovating one of the facility's towers, specifically focusing on the lower-level common area and common corridors. I've been appointed as the interior designer for the first floor, responsible for space planning, code compliance, and selecting finishes and furniture. The design choices made here will set the standard for the renovations in the other two towers.
